We are so happy that we went with the Birth Preparation Package with Kendra at Beyond Measures Doula Services. Kendra clearly put a lot of work into gathering and presenting the materials in this package, and did a fantastic job of explaining lots of birthing options but also sharing her personal insight and experience when asked. Our favourite part were the 3 one-on-one prenatal meetings since it was so helpful to have a designated time and place in our busy lives for my husband and I to sit down and make an informed birth plan with Kendra’s help! After much preparation and intention we ended up having the birth that we wanted for our first born! We highly recommend you meet Kendra and find a package that works for you, you won’t regret it!

Although we didn’t get a chance to use this birthing pool, we had a very easy time setting it up and taking it down. Kendra is a delight to work with and the transactions were easily made through e-transfers. Kendra was absolutely fantastic! I rented a birthing pool for my home birth & Kendra was more than accommodating, she got the pool to me a few days earlier then I had originally booked it for last minute notice without any issues! I had an amazing birthing experience using the pool it was wonderful for pain management and overall relaxation to anyone who wants to have a home birth I highly recommend Kendra for any needed doula services or birthing pool rentals.

Renting Kendra’s home birth kit was worth every penny. It was very reasonably priced, easy to use, and helped me tremendously in achieving a smooth, successful home birth. Renting the kit was very affordable. The only thing we had to buy was the hose for filling and draining the pool. It would have been crazy expensive to buy a pool and TENS machine, not to mention wasteful (unless maybe you’re planning on having a dozen babies)!My husband and I were able to set up the pool during the early stages of my labour and he filled it when I was in active labour. The instructions that came with the pool were very clear and easy to follow. We practiced using the TENS machine one time before my labour and we had it down pat. During most of my labour I used the TENS machine to help me through contractions. I found that it not only helped to ease the pain, but it gave me a sense of control which helped me relax. I used the TENS until just before I went into the water. As soon as I got into the pool, I was mad that I hadn’t gotten in sooner. The pool was spacious and comfortable. The water immediately eased my labour pains and the warmth was so soothing. I was not in the water long before the time came to push, which was also aided by the water. I had significantly less tearing than with my first (hospital) birth, and found it to be much easier and more comfortable than pushing on my back with an epidural. I would recommend this kit for anyone considering having a home birth, or even for labouring at home before going to the hospital. Kendra was very easy to communicate with, and very flexible with her schedule for drop-off and pickup. We’re not planning on having another anytime soon, but if we do I would certainly rent this kit from Kendra again.

Kendra has a love for kids and moms and does a great job of making the birthing experience as relaxing as possible. She helped me with the birth of my daughter. Having the opportunity to discuss my fears, wishes, and birthing moments with her helped a lot! She was there to hold my hand as I contracted and to share encouraging words to make me through each one. I’m glad I was able to have a doula throughout this birthing experience.
